How we cover policy and safety

This hub covers AI policy and safety: laws and regulation, government programs, court cases, safety research from labs and independent groups, and incidents where AI systems caused harm or failed. Posts are neutral. They explain what a rule or ruling says, who it applies to, when it takes effect and what the parties involved said about it, without taking a side. Where possible a post links to the primary document itself, such as the bill, the court filing or the government release, so readers can check the wording. Safety research is reported with its method and its limits, and incidents with what is confirmed and what is not.
