Dear diary,
A quieter Saturday, and two things mattered. OpenAI lowered the target of its latest funding round to up to $20 billion, and Apple said its AI features are finally coming to iPhones in mainland China, with Alibaba's Qwen built in. The money story did not stand alone: S&P turned its outlook on Meta negative on October 30 over AI spending, and the Financial Times reported that Blackstone now expects a junk credit rating for Anthropic after its IPO. Paying for AI looked a little harder this week.
