Dear diary,
A Tuesday about where search ends and AI answers begin. Google told schools they can switch off its AI tools for students, but only if they give up Google Search as well. On the same day an adviser to the EU's top court said chatbot answers built from retrieved news can infringe publishers' rights, one day after The New York Times sued Brave over search results sold to AI companies. Both stories rest on the same fact: search and AI answers are now hard to pull apart. Nvidia reportedly capped Chinese business at its cloud customers, and Apple opened Siri AI to every app developer.
